Yep - 'tis time to turn the clocks back! The days are getting shorter and shorter with the onset of winter, and it's getting colder, too. Thankfully, my teachers aren't being particularly harsh in the homework department. -- My dog, Suzie, died about a month ago. She was the sweetest personality anyone could hope to meet, and I miss her dearly. My mom andI were talking about how life just didn't feel right without a dog - even though one can never replace Suzie - and we're thinking about adopting an adult Shetland Sheepdog. Susie was a Sheltie, too, and I think it'd be a good thing to give one a loving home. Hmm...what will dad say, I wonder?

9:45 pm - Fencing...
|
Well, I've got a very cool fencing tournament coming up in Charlotte, NC - I think it's the Thanksgiving Open. I'm going to have alot of fun. It's actually going to be my first tournament, so I'm even almost nervous at the prospect. I've been training and practicing about five days out of every week, and hopefully that'll give me an edge.

10:53 pm - More Quizzes
|
|
| |
10:44 pm - I'm just me.
|
I took another quiz - D&D, this time.
I Am A: True Neutral Elf Ranger Druid
Alignment: True Neutral characters are very rare. They believe that balance is the most important thing, and will not side with any other force. They will do whatever is necessary to preserve that balance, even if it means switching allegiances suddenly.
Race: Elves are the eldest of all races, although they are generally a bit smaller than humans. They are generally well-cultured, artistic, easy-going, and because of their long lives, unconcerned with day-to-day activities that other races frequently concern themselves with. Elves are, effectively, immortal, although they can be killed. After a thousand years or so, they simply pass on to the next plane of existance.
Primary Class: Rangers are the defenders of nature and the elements. They are in tune with the Earth, and work to keep it safe and healthy.
Secondary Class: Druids are a special variety of Cleric who serves the Earth, and can call upon the power in the earth to accomplish their goals. They tend to be somewhat fanatical about defending natural settings.
Deity: Silvanus is the True Neutral god of nature. He is also known as the Patron of Druids. His followers believe in the perfect balance of nature, and believe that nature's bounty is preferable to any other 'civilizing' method. They wear leather or metallic scale mail, constructed of leaf-shaped scales. Silvanus's symbol is an oak leaf.

2:56 pm - Life is just...weird...
|
I took an SAT prep class today...and it was almost fun. O.o Don't mind my own personal brand of weirdness. 'Tis like a fine wine - it needs to be chilled and aged properly. It's raining outside, and I'm enjoying the blurry view from the computer room...
On another note, I took a quiz! Not a school-type quiz, but one of those cool on-line ones. The result wasn't very surprising. ~_^

I took the What Mythological Creature Are you? test by peacefulchaos! (She's a livejournal user...)

2:07 am - Happiness!
|
School started not too long ago, and my classes aren't even all that crappy. I've got Strings II, which is okay, followed by Latin II - which is less so. After that I take something called 'Natural History.' Then I have lunch....mmmm...lunch. One of my favorite classes. After lunch I have Creative Writing. This class isn't so bad, 'cause I have really good friends in it. ^_^ Then I go to T&G English, and then to Physics. I thought I wasn't going to have any math until next sememester, but boy was I wrong - Physics is all math. Evil evil evil evil....
Anyway - today I have fencing. Yay! ^_^ I really should go sleep now...I'll never be able to fence well if I haven't been properly rested. Good night, all.

1:38 am - FISH!
|
Yep, I'm sorry to say that my parents put me up to reading a book about conducting a positive business. It's title? FISH! I know, I know...it sounds completely useless. It's actually quite good - despite all of my reservations. Go search Amazon.com and look it up, or something...
Fencing lessons continue tomorrow. They're always fun...and I'll get a chance to use what I learned from reading FISH! No, really...I'm being serious. Quit laughing!
Oh well, I suppose there's always something ruffling my feathers. Still, I managed to implement a new layout on my site: Stormy Skies. Go check it out, sign my guestbook, etc. Oh, and another thing...I just have to insert this plug for a friend's anime comic...her drawings are just too good to miss!

10:22 pm - I'm six feet from the edge and I'm thinking...maybe six feet, ain't so far down...
|
That was just a little quote from 'Six Feet Under,' by Creed. Just a thought, but if you don't like rambling, you may want to leave - because that's most of what I do. *grins*
Thank god for good friends...they're priceless. Myself, I have few 'real' friends, but the ones I do have stay true. Have you ever really cared about what you said to someone? Cared so much that you know immediately when you've said something wrong? Okay, so maybe I just sound like a jerk - because I don't answer those questions with a 'yes' too often. Like I said, though...I'm beginning to realize how to say things - maybe I'm getting less cynical. *grins* Doubt it. I guess I just can't stay 'happy' for long.
Today, my cello teacher said something along the lines of, "When will I ever understand you?" Hmm...I dunno. She had asked me if I was confident in myself - I said 'no' - then she asked me if I was happy - I said 'no' - then she asked me if I'd ever been happy with myself - I said 'no, not really.' If I'm not an arrogant, hard-headed, callous, cynical teenager - then I don't know who I am.
*sighs* I don't really 'want' to be like this all the time...it just 'happens.' The people that I don't annoy are few and far between, and it seems like I'll never find any common ground. Really - do you know someone who likes to read Chaucer in the original? For fun? Didn't think so. So I'm a 'nerd' - shoot me - everyone else has.
To give you an idea, the one thing that some people remember about me is that, "She's scary." Makes you feel real good, that. I'll be quiet for a while now...

12:47 pm - Life is just...a window...an empty window...
|
|
You know why? Because you can paint it, or look out of it, or jump out of it, or decorate it...or even break it. So many things can be done with a window, and it's amazing to see what people come up with. Eye doctor appointment today. He's probably going to get mad at me for not using my glasses, though hopefully I get contacts today. For me, my life's window is empty because my vision's blurry and I can't see it too well... *grumbles* Another thing, I've got fencing lessons today. Perhaps my one form of release other than writing. I've never felt moments so free than when I hold a foil in my hand...
